Bioderma Micellar Water VS. Garnier Micellar Water: Is it Worth the Extra Bucks ?

May 18, 2018

I've been using the Garnier micellar water ever since it came to the Lebanese market: It removes all kinds of makeup very efficiently and doesn't cause any sensitivity, plus it's super affordable.

In the mean time, we've been hearing about the new (back then) micellar water from Bioderma Sensibio and how it's really good. However, looking at the price of it, I found it a bit inefficient to pay $37 for something I use on a daily basis and that I'm gonna renew in the following month. So I refrained from buying it because I was already satisfied with the Garnier one.

Last November I received the small 100 mL Bioderma Sensibio micellar water as a gift, so I thought it'd be a great idea to try it and do a comparison.

If we're gonna be talking about the Bioderma water alone, it's really good: removed my makeup without any trace, very clean and light, no sensitivity. So it's safe to say that $37 per month or 2 months isn't so bad.

However, if we want to compare quality vs. price of these two products, Bioderma micellar water doesn't have an added value to the Garnier one. You're basically paying more to get the same result, which to me, is crazy.

So to answer the title in the blogpost: Nop, it's not worth the extra bucks.

  • Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Solution: $37 for 500 mL

  • Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Make-up Remover: $ 10 for 400 mL
Both products are available at with a 10% discount if you use my code "farahfeel22" at checkout.
